In The Store: Spring Fever!

Baby Chick Sweater Guards
Chocolate Bunny Sweater Guards
Glitter Flower Sweater Guards
White Rabbit Sweater Guards

Spring is here! Okay, so it doesn't feel much like it, at least not in Toronto, but I'm confident it's going to start warming up soon. I personally can't wait for blue skies, flowers, and warm rainy days. Better weather means motivation to go exploring... and take outfit photos. I'm a big baby, I just can't do it in the cold.

In keeping with the season, and with Easter right around the corner, I just wanted to feature some of the spring themed pieces up for grabs in my shop. I have limited stock, so if you'd like anything shown here now is the time to snap it up!

Etsy Treasury Features

This isn't the post I planned on jumping back into blogging with, but I couldn't wait to finish the DIY post I had planned...so hey Lovelies, hope you've all been well, and I'm so glad to be back!

I'm sort of bubbling over because my items have popped up in two treasury lists in the past month. And quite frankly, I think that's pretty rad (also, watch out for a store update sometime soon. I've got a bunch of new sweater guards in the shop!). Thanks so much to Nika and Vyldanstyl for featuring me!

Customer Feature: Introducing Liv!

So as I mentioned vaguely in a previous post I have something new planned for the blog. I'm a people person. No really, I am. But I'd never be the one to approach you out in public to tell you I like something you're wearing or say that your hair looks nice, even if that's what I'm thinking, because I'm just too darn shy. I really do love people though, and I'm an avid people watcher (creepy I know, but I love seeing the different styles everyone has). Other's beliefs, interests, hobbies, and personal style fascinate me, and I really enjoy learning about the similarities and differences I share with various people. Perhaps that's why I dove into the blogosphere. Learning new things, and learning of new things, and being able to share my own hobbies and interests with everyone else. Keeping that in mind, I thought it would be interesting to learn more about the people buying from me...

I started Amber Skies Designs fairly recently, and Liv was my second customer. She bought one of my favourite items, the black and white kitty sweater clips (Rachele from The Nearsighted Owl also wore them!)
I'm always curious how people end up styling my items, and how they make my work into their own via outfit choices. As a way to say thank you for supporting ASD, I thought it would be fun to do a customer feature.
Judging by the following, Liv is a pretty cool gal:

Dress: Kohl's - Princess Vera Wang collection
Pants: My bestfriend's old jeans - Grane brand
Shoes: Mossimo Supply Co. Cheetah FlatsTarget
Jewelry: Kitty Sweater ClipsAmber Skies Designs

I'm 17 years old and love art, packaging, and design. I have been painting for 4 years and am completely self-taught. I spend the rest of my free time playing music and baking sugar-filled goodies. I just love to create, in general, and enjoy anything that can act as an outlet for self-expression.

I just love the outfit she put together. Is that dress fantastic, or is it fantastic? Really digging the detail on the collar. It makes the dress look edgy and elegant at the same time. And of course, I'm a sucker for a plaid and cheetah print combo.

Thanks so much for participating Liv, you rock, and you look amazing!

Katrina is the best...

Just wanted to give a quick shout out to Katrina for this post. You are actually the best! So glad you like the shirt.

Workspace Wednesday

Top: Sketches for my latest order. I love the concept of this shirt. It's a Dresden Dolls theme with the lyrics to Delilah featured on the front and the Yes Virginia... album art on the back. I really dig the Dresden Dolls (and Amanda is totally rad, I adore her) so this is a pretty exciting project!

Bottom: My first shirt order WIP for my lovely friend Katrina. These are old pictures already, I've actually got the front of this one done right now, I just completely forgot she wanted the galaxy print to extend around the back too so it's back to splattering on this one.

Below: Close ups of the Tardis/Galaxy print shirt. I am actually so anxious about this, I really hope she likes it!

I'm planning on sharing some of the DIY projects I've been working on lately. Most of it is organization related and I'm ridiculously excited to be making storage-y things.

Stay Scary,
Berlyn

Store Update

I made my first sale today! I meant to post this update a few days ago. I did not expect to make a sale this quickly, so I'm pretty happy right now. Anyhow, these are the new sweater clips up in my etsy shop, and they're in need of a good home!

Stay Scary,
Berlyn
