MungoCrafts Hoodie Review + ::Giveaway:: CLOSED

Before I begin my babbling, I'd like to introduce you all to MungoCrafts, in the words of the owner herself:

Hello my name's April and I run the Etsy shop MungoCrafts where I handmake ladies Hoodies from recycled/upcycled  sweatshirts. I try to make my Mungo Hoodies completely Unique and One of a Kind, no two are totally alike! Each hoodie is numbered, and comes with a handmade printed label, and matching numbered tag.

I've been crafting for as long a I can remember. I do a lot of sewing, by hand and on my machines. I love shopping at thrift stores and garage sales, giving old materials new life. I have always used recycled/upcycled/vintage materials for my creations, making each piece unique from one another. I collect recycled sweatshirts, sweatshirt fleece, vintage polyester prints, and of course huge funky buttons! "

Let me start by saying that when April, the talent that is MungoCrafts, contacted me about hosting this giveaway I was beyond thrilled. I swore to myself I would shove my excitement aside and be honest from the get-go, and now I solemly swear to you that this is my 200% honest opinion: The other day I received the hoodie of my dreams from MungoCrafts. I'm not blowing smoke here, I am in love with this hoodie. 

 The Gem Hoodie jumped out at me immediately upon viewing April's shop. I thought it was very My Little Pony meets Jem and the Holograms, and therefore, right up my alley. The colours are amazing, and look totally kick-ass in the signature MungoCrafts colour block style. And it's even better in person. The only bad thing about this hoodie is that it shows up all my other clothing so I have to find something equally amazing to wear it with.

Upon opening the package, the first thing I noticed was the smell of the garment. Weird, I know, but hear me out. There is nothing better than fresh smelling clothing, and that is something you can't just go out and buy. It was already pretty obvious to me that a lot of care goes in to April's work, right down to the product prep, packaging and shipping. 

I'm not sure how obvious it is to anyone who is not me, but the fit of the hoodie is a bit snug on me. Measurements are clearly provided with every item listed in Mungo Crafts, and I decided to risk ignoring the couple inches I've gained since Christmas and not opt for a bigger size hoodie. I do not regret this decision. It is soft with a bit of stretch to it, and very well made, and while there isn't a whole heck of a lot of give in the material, I'm okay with it being fitted. Use your own judgement when considering measurements of course.

As I said before, I think the colours are fantastic. The material used is really nice, and the addition of the oversize button is a  fun touch. It's warm and cozy, but not too warm, perfect for spring/fall or cool summer nights. The hoodie itself is very well made, and I would highly recommend April's work to anyone who will listen to me go on about it.
